1) Software Engineer, Autonomous Systems

Concurrent Real-Time, Inc. currently has an opening for a full-time Software Engineer, Autonomous Systems at our Pompano Beach, Florida location.

Position Summary: The Software Engineer is responsible for executing or independently achieving project objectives by performing a variety of very complex engineering and process tasks, which require in-depth and diversified technical knowledge. Duties may pertain to product design and or development, manufacturing, product quality/test, system compatibility and sales/marketing support. The design/development or process design requirement activity, is at a level where no previous practice may exist and where only the general nature of the problem is known.

Essential Duties:

  • Develop and support a real-time operating system based on Automotive Grade Linux.
  • Maintain, enhance, and develop large engineering projects or a number of smaller scale projects with complex features. This position involves software engineering in a Linux environment.
  • Translate product, process, or systems requirements into engineering principles to describe and specify required application.
  • Be aware of internal and external customer concerns in the design, development, manufacturability of products and processes.
  • Synthesize initial concepts to define broader or lesser concepts.
  • Develop understanding of department’s identity and efforts, and the corporate role.
  • Contribute to improving the technical knowledge base and effectiveness of other engineers.
  • Interface with co-workers and staff from other departments and ensures positive working relationships in a team environment.
  • Impart technical expertise within department, and to customers, user groups.
  • Perform such other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering.
  • 3-5 years embedded Linux software development experience.
  • Experience with Yocto, Open Embedded, BitBake and Buildroot.
  • Experience with source control systems, including Git and Subversion.
  • Knowledge of the Intel x86_64 architecture.
  • Strong skills in programming languages, including C, Python and Bash.

2) Customer Service Specialist

Concurrent Real-Time, Inc. currently has an opening for a full-time Customer Service Specialist at our Pompano Beach, Florida location. (Job Posting: FY18-8)

Position Summary: The Customer Service Specialist must be able to respond to all customer related issues using email and phone to ensure issues are resolved quickly. He/She must work with the hotline team to verify maintenance contracts and ensure proper inventory is on hand to support current contracts. They must also work with field service personnel, as required to resolve customer issues with and without the field technician on site. They must collaborate with technicians and the engineering department to duplicate and resolve the issues. They must also work with cost accounting on inventory related projects. They must support Systems Integration, shipping and receiving, facilities and other areas as required.

Essential Duties:

  • Respond to emails from customers and provide updates on their issues. Position requires considerable coordination and follow up with the customers. Must be proactive to obtain closure for all reported issues.
  • Arrange phone calls between customer and field technicians to discuss reported issues. May require working with technicians and engineers, to ensure the proper personnel are involved.
  • Work closely with hotline personnel to verify which customers have maintenance contracts and if their product is still under warranty.
  • Ensure we have inventory to support current maintenance contracts. Locating inventory may require utilizing manufacturing inventory for critical customer down situations.
  • Collaborate with test technicians and engineers to better understand certain issues, which may require support from our team and/or the supplier.
  • Work with cost accounting on all inventory related issues.
  • Utilize MTS database and QAD to enter, track, and process orders.
  • Support Integration, shipping and receiving, facilities, and other areas as required.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work area.
  • Adhere to all Company safety policies and procedures.
  • Required on-call availability for certain night and weekend hours.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Must have 4 years of High School or equivalency.
  • Over 1 year of customer service experience is preferred.
  • Experience with MTS databases and QAD is preferred.
  • Experience working with others or in a team to solve specific issues.
  • Technical experience with computer assembly and test preferred.

3) Full-Time Software Engineer

Concurrent Real-Time, Inc. currently has an opening for a full-time Software Engineer at our Pompano Beach, Florida location. (Job Posting: FY18-9)

Position Summary: The Real Time Software Engineer is responsible for configuring and testing SIMulation Workbench demo systems including third party software. He/she will maintain the system so they are available at all time for the sales office. The engineer will interact with Concurrent Real-Time sales analysts and sales team to ensure the demo requirements are fulfilled.

Essential Duties:

  • Configure SIMulation Workbench hardware and software systems.
  • Maintain and test systems.
  • Produce presentation material including slides and videos to go along the systems during sales show.
  • Assist with the integration of third party software into SIMulation Workbench including:
    • GUI design and development in Java Swing.
    • Development of third party interface in the C language.
  • Be aware of internal and external customer sales team and SIMulation Workbench team’s concerns in the design, development of products and processes.
  • Develop understanding of department’s identity and efforts, and the corporate role.
  • Interface with co-workers and staff from other departments and ensures positive working relationships in a team environment.
  •  Impart technical expertise within department, and to customers, users groups.
  • Perform such other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science
  • 1-3 years or more in a software engineering position
  • Strong experience working within a Linux environment.
  • Experience working in the Windows environment.
  • Knowledge of usual programming languages, including C, C++, and Java programming.
  • Experience in Network programming.
  • Experience in basic web technologies: HTML, Web server (apache, tomcat,etc) PHP JavaScript
